Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead
As a major visitor destination, The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has always used PR as a key part of the marketing mix. In 2010, they invited agencies to submit proposals for a new programme of PR activity focused on increasing the levels of media coverage and raising awareness of the Royal Borough as a year round, short break destination.
Following a successful tender, LiveTourism delivered a step-change in media coverage for the Royal Borough. We focused on targeting international, national and regional media with ideas designed to increase the length of stay and visitor spend and being proactive to promote the destination at every opportunity. We hosted over 100 media visits, delivered media masterclasses to local businesses and created an online media centre and image library. The PR programme generated coverage with an advertising equivalent value of £2.6 million, representing a return on investment of 42:1. We went on to win the contract for a further three years.
