Alex is as happy writing strategy and managing budgets as he is developing a new cycle route. We call him versatile. He says it’s what comes from years of public sector project managing. He’s also a fine cricket player which might explain his negotiating skills with senior staff in high profile organisations and his success in planning and research, teamwork and building partnerships, coalitions and consortia.

Life before LiveTourism
Alex has worked as tourism development manager for the London Development Agency, principal tourism officer for the London Borough of Sutton and research and development officer for Northumbria Tourism Board, as well as economic development manager at the London Borough of Croydon, and a self-employed tourism consultant. He trained as an urban planner and designer but thanks to a fortunate diversion (his words) 15 years ago, Alex moved into destination management. Howzat?
